This week we played one of my favorite spelling games, Whack-A-Word! I am sure it will become your child's favorite too!
Student are given a mallet and a keyboard.
Next, a word pops up on the smart board.
As soon as the word disappears, students can start whacking away at the letters in the word.
As soon as they hit all the letters they put their mallet in the air.
If they whack the word before the timer goes off, then they won. If not, better luck with the next word.
This is always such a fun and high energy way to practice the weekly spelling patterns!
