 We are excited because we got our official Wonderful Whale t-shirts!

Here we are acting super silly...like always!  We will wear these t-shirts every Friday and for field trips!

Math Centers

To add a little fun to our first grade lives we started having math centers on Tuesdays.  These activities are games that we have learned during our Guided Math time that will help strengthen our math skills that we are working on.  Check out us working hard and having fun!

Fire and Bus Safety

Today the Pecatonica Fire Department came and talked to us about fire safety. We were challenged to go home and practice our fire drill at home, discuss where the family meeting spot is, and to check our smoke detectors. 

After our little chat...we got to SPRAY THE FIRE HOSE!

Our favorite buddy Sparky came. We were so happy to see him!

We then met up with Mrs. Simmons. She talked to us about how to safely cross in front of a bus.

She also talked to us about how we should sit on a bus and where the exits are located.

Feed The Monster

Yesterday we played a came called Feed The Monster.    We took number cards and laid them face down.

 One of us would flip over a card.  We had to decide what number we would need to add to it to get a sum of 10.  Then, we would flip a card over.

If we made a match by making a sum of ten, then we took the two cards and fed them to the monster. 

If the numbers were not a match because they did NOT equal then, we would flip them back over.

Sorry, not a match there Trinity.
