This week we read the book How Do Apples Grow.
We already knew a lot about apples before reading this book, but we learned a few new things too. Did you know the seeds of an apple are called a pip? Did you know that when you are eating an apple you are actually eating part of a flower? These were just some of the facts that we learned when reading this book.
On Friday, we sampled 3 types of apples.
Red: Gala
Yellow: Golden Delicious
Green: Granny Smith.
After sampling the apples, we created a graph that showed our favorites. Ask your child which apple was our classes favorite.
Later in the day we read the book How to Grow and Apple Pie and See the World.
After reading this book we made our own version of an apple pie, apple turnovers. Ask your child if they liked their turnover.
Here we are making our turnovers...
Here we are after they were done baking....
