Monster of a Week

We had a MONSTER of a week!

We started our week off with some great monster stories to practice our retelling! (Click on the covers of each book below to listen to the story at home.)

Later in the week we read a non-fiction text about real life creepy animals.  After we read about each animal we wrote down three facts. We had to pull the facts directly from the text.  We put these facts in a giant chart to be used later to write a creepy animals riddles!

Here are some of our creepy animal riddles.  You can check out more at parent teacher conferences!

In math we worked hard to memorize our facts of 10!.  We played Feed My Monster while in math groups.  Feed My Monster is played like a memory game, but to a make a match you have to have 2 cards that equal 10.  After we flipped the first card, Mrs. Wanke would not let us flip the second card until we told her what the matching card should be.

No match today. :)

We also made a monster craft.  The spikes represented a fact of 10!
