How am I doing?

As parent teacher conferences get closer, I would really like to evaluate how I am doing.  I want to make sure that I am meeting your expectations and the expectations of your child.  If you would not mind, please take a moment to fill out the anonymous survey below.
Thank you!  I look forward to seeing all of you at conferences.

Making Landforms

It is pretty hard to remember all the different types of landforms unless you can see and touch them. So...that is exactly what we did today. Each of us got a container of Play-Doh. Mrs. Wanke would call out a landform.  We had to try and sculpt it with our Play-Doh. After, we played a game called Name that Landform!  We are Landform experts!

Check out our lakes.

Addition with Regrouping

Well the math posts continue. We started learning about addition with regrouping.  We learned today what we do when a number is bigger than 10 in the ones place....regroup!  Thanks to Mrs. Rawhoof, she found a game to help us practice this skill.

Directions:
1. Click on Base 10 on the left
2. Click on addition (We have not learned how to subtract with borrowing yet, so please do not do subtraction.)
3. Play!!

The Spider and The Fly

Click on the book for a link to read the poem.

We have been reading, analyzing, and performing The Spider and The Fly by Mary Howitt and illustrated by Tony DiTerlizzi. This poems was originally written in 1829.  It was really interesting to listen to old language and determine the authors meaning.  We learned a valuable lesson from this poem.  Do you know what it is?
